Wow! After the big wins over LSU and Texas A&M, the Bulldogs climbed the polls to #3. The next week we were scheduled to play Auburn, who was ranked #2! ESPN College game day came to town for the first time and campus was PACKED! We got up early Saturday morning to drive in from the beach. We got to town around 12:00 and Anthony's dad met us and dropped us off on campus. It was the perfect way to arrive! By that time all the parking lots were full and we have no clue where we would have ended up having to park. It was HOT when we got there. We had just enough time to wait in line for the bathroom, grab some lunch at the tailgate and then head in to the game.
Excited but nervous before kickoff......
Early on we intercepted the ball and got a touchdown. Bryce is a very quiet fan (but loves being there). This game I saw him cheer more than he has all year so far!
I wish I had gotten Anthony in the picture too.....looks like he is yelling! With 11:30 left in the 1st quarter we were up 14-0!!! Holy Moly nobody expected that. I've never heard Davis Wade Stadium so loud. It was amazing!!!!
At the end of the game my arm hurt from ringing the cowbell, I had a blister on my thumb from the cowbell and I was loosing my voice from yelling so much. Perfect game!!!
Near the end of the second quarter it started raining. It had been so hot and sunny before the game that I forgot and left our panchos at the tailgate. Rain was forecasted but I forgot about that with the heat! It rained and poured for a few minutes but then stopped. We were DRENCHED but still happy and having fun with the game!
During halftime it started raining again and the fun wore off. CeCe shut down and went to sleep on Anthony like this. She never sleeps outside of her bed so this was crazy! She stayed like this (with all the cowbells and yelling all around her) until I got tired of the rain in the 3rd quarter and woke her up to take her back to the tent.
She and I watched the game under the stadium before making a run for the bookstore. We bought a cute sweatshirt that kept her nice and warm. I should have gotten one for myself. I've never been so wet and cold for so long! It started raining around 4 and when we got back to West Point after 9 we were still SOAKING wet. It's Monday today and Anthony and Bryce's shoes are still wet!
Kate (from Pensacola) and her family were in town for the game and the girls got to play at our tailgate while all the boys were still at the game. It stopped raining in the 4th quarter so they stayed the whole game.
We still can't believe the Bulldogs won (and won so big!). The team is now #1 in both polls for the first time in school history. Such fun for the Bulldog faithful!!!
