The wait for surgery was so long, but Bryce handled it so good. He only asked for juice and snacks a couple of times until the very end, then he was asking alot but finally fell alseep until they came to get him (3 hrs. late) Handing him over to the nurse was hard, probably the hardest this time because he was so aware of what was going on. The surgery lasted over 2 hrs. That is a long time when you are waiting on news about your baby in surgery. But when Dr. Woolley came back with the great news the long wait was forgotten. We were quickly taken up to our room and they brought Bryce in (we could hear his hoarse voice out in the hallway asking for us). He looked great! Pretty loopy, but very much awake and talking. And his lip looked better than I imagined it would. To me it looks the same as before, but with 2 stitches in the front. I know it is different because Dr. Woolley took 90% of the H out and had to do a lip tuck because of the extra skin, but it still looks big to me. And it is supposed to right now. He said to expect a lot of swelling. I can tell the stitches inside his lip bother him because he sucks on them, but I don't think they hurt. Dr. W said that he will need soft foods for 7-10 days. Guess who ate a chicken nugget happy meal today at lunch?? Yep. Either he is totally ignoring the pain or he just isn't feeling any. He can't use a sippy cup but is great at using a straw in a cup or taking grown up sips. And the worst part so far about this whole thing..................NO BIPPIE! But tonight he has gone to sleep without it and only asked for it about 10 times. Everytime we would say "Dr. said no bippie" and he would say "Otay, Doc said no" or "bippie gone".
I tried creating a slideshow of pics from the birthday party and from the hospital, but the computer was acting up so I'm just going to post these from the hospital for tonight. Check back tomorrow for the birthday pics, he had a great time at his fiesta!

Bryce we are so glad you are home and that all went well!!! We can't wait to get you back in the running again! Brooke, I LOVE that picture of him holding his feet in the air, too cute! (((HUGS AND KISSES))) to the little man.
That's great you guys are home. I hope you and Anthony get some rest tonight and that Bryce continues to do well with the low pain level. Really exciting what Dr. W was able to do and can't wait to see the lip when the swelling goes down. Hard to believe that handsome boy might get better looking!!
I can't wait to see more pics! His lip already looks better to me!!! ANd way to go on NO BIPPIE!!!!
I absolutely love the picture of Bryce in the bed with the dvd player in his lap. He looks like a business man on his mini laptop catching up on his spreadsheets and his financial accounting! I wonder where he gets that from?!!
