... Bryce and company are finally in a room. As Heather mentioned, Dr. Woolley was able to remove a large portion of the hemangioma in his lip. He's optimistic that all of the hemagioma by his ear will be completely gone as a result of this laser treatment, and Bryce will need a few more laser treatments on the hemangioma near his mouth. He has about 20 stitches inside his mouth just under the lip. There's two stitches and a small hole on the outside to allow for some drainage. All in all, great news in that hopefully the invasive (cutting) type surgeries may be behind us with only laser treatments in out future.
The nurse mentioned that in the recovery room Bryce was asking for mama and dada (mama first.... no doubt) which obviously made his parents smile from ear to ear. So he's beginning to wake up.... hopefully there's enough pain medicine still in him to fight of the hurting some. Once upstairs, it took almost two nanoseconds for him to request his bippie (pacifier for those who don't know), but unfortunately, he can't have it for the next 10 to 14 days. Could be the end of the bippie (Jennifer... don't tell Jack).
As I was leaving the room, he was feverishly chugging some apple juice. If he can drink (and keep down) 8 ounces, the IV can be detached from the drip. It will still be connected to his arm but will be very nice to not be hooked to the drip. And yes... it only took three nanoseconds for him to demand that it be taken "Off!". He was beginning to watch a DVD, and I was able smuggle a Cozy Coupe (little car he can sit in and push himself around) from the 2nd floor.
For the next couple weeks, he'll have to eat soft foods: apple sauce, yogurt, jello, etc. He'll have a post-op visit in 2 weeks. Future laser surgeries can be scheduled in the next month or so and will be in 4 to 6 week intervals. They should only be 5 to 10 minutes apiece and will be outpatient.
Think that's it for now. Brooke will surely fill in any gaps tomorrow. Thanks to all for your prayers. - Anthony, Sr.

Wonderful news!! Cozy coupe cars, apple juice and mommy are enough to make anybody feel better. I hope the pain is low enough or dulled by drugs enough that he has a restful night!
