Cast free and Snow!

CeCe finally got her cast off Thursday!!!  She's supposed to wear a sling for the next 2 weeks while active and at school.  She was glad to wear it that first day because it was so sore but I know it's going to be a struggle getting her to wear it from now on because she's feeling so much better.  So happy to wear regular clothes again and be able to wash that hand!!

Friday we had a 'slight chance of a dusting of snow'.  Well, 2.5-3 inches later......! No school on Friday which was fun!  We watched movies, played Just Dance, and hung out with friends.

Luke Duke does not love the cold weather!  We find him buried under blankets when it's this cold.  The other night we wrapped him up like this and he stayed this way for hours.

CeCe and Mary playing in the snow yesterday

Later Audrey came over and they tried to have a snowball fight.  The snow was pure powder though so it was hard to form it into balls.

No pictures of Bryce in the snow because he did not go outside all day!  He is more like Luke, buried under blankets when it's this cold!  We need to fatten them both up some!

Christmas fun!

We had a wonderful Christmas!!

Bryce got his cast off the week before Christmas.  He was pumped to say the least!

My parents took the kids downtown for a night!  They went to the Peabody, a Grizzlies game and spent the night at the apartment.

On 12/18 our church had a fun caroling night with a chili cook-off after the caroling.  We all really enjoyed it!

Christmas Eve before church....

We went to the family service at 3:30 on Christmas Eve and the kids were part of the Christmas play during the service.

Bryce was one of the narrators

And CeCe was a shepard

These two are so sweet!

Cappy and I with our matching Christmas PJs!

Christmas morning was awesome!  The kids each got bikes from Santa and had to check them out before church.

Poor CeCe still has her cast on but could still ride the new bike, yay!  She's in a tank top, on Christmas day!

The day after Christmas we headed to West Point for the day to celebrate with the Dukes.  It was a great visit!

CeCe with her new school set.  She loves to teach!!

No trip to WP would be complete without a visit to the warehouse.  Daniel and Bryce played pool

While teacher CeCe set up her desk in the middle of the room!

That night Bryce put on his new Dak jersey to cheer on the Cowboys to a victory!

A few days after that my parents got the Williams cousins for 2 days.  It was a fun filled two days!

We went to Shelby Farms and they all had a blast

Meal times were loud and chaotic!

Then we settled down with a treat and movie both nights!

Our eventful few weeks

To start the month of November Papaw Ruff was honored at the Dogwood Veteran's Day program.  It was very special for CeCe that he came! (Bryce had the same program in the morning but my dad could only come to the afternoon younger grades program)

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving Bryce was knocked down in a basketball scrimmage game and broke his left wrist.  It was a fracture of the growth plate technically.  We came on home that night and took him to the orthopedics office the next morning.  He's been in a cast ever since.  This was the night it happened, poor thing was hurting pretty bad!

We had a great Thanksgiving in West Point!  On Thanksgiving day we went out to the country (AKA, where Anthony grew up!) and had the best time exploring.

The Wednesday after Thanksgiving CeCe was at her weekly tumbling class. I was just outside the room and heard a terrible scream.  It was CeCe, she was trying an aerial and landed on her elbow/arm.  I knew right away she was hurt pretty bad so we went straight to the orthopaedic drs office.  Anthony met us there thankfully!

She has a fracture/dislocation of her ulna and elbow.  They put her in this softer cast to allow for swelling for about 5 days.

This was the night CeCe's happened, she was thankfully feeling so much better once they got the cast on.  How crazy is it that they both have left arm casts at the same time?  Makes for a cute/fun picture but definitely complicates things at home!  (Bath, hand washing, etc!)

The day after CeCe's adventure Bryce woke up with strep throat.  First time for strep for either of the kids.  He felt pretty crummy for 3 days and missed his first two 'sick days' at Dogwood.  Luke Duke is the best sick companion.  Whoever is sick he is their constant companion and it is the sweetest thing!  And huge shout out to Cappy.  She came over at a moment's notice this day (and many others!) so I could get CeCe to the eye Dr. and stay with sick Bryce.

CeCe failed the eye screening at school so the day after she broke her arm I wasn't ready to send her all day so she and I went to the eye Dr.  She ended up needing glasses for the classroom and schoolwork/homework.  She looks precious in her new glasses!

That Friday night was the annual daddy/daughter dance at Dogwood.  CeCe rocked the pink cast by putting some matching pink hair extensions in!  Love her style!

CeCe went back to the Dr. the next Monday and got this fun rainbow tie-dyed hard cast.  We've now been for 2 weekly sets of X-rays for her and each time the Dr. says "she's so lucky" that she has avoided surgery for this.

Bryce had a nasty stomach virus this weekend and miss school today, hopefully he will be up for school tomorrow.  He has an ortho appointment Wednesday and we are hopeful that he will get his cast off!  This has been one crazy month around here!  Thankful for our many blessings!!

Halloween and Crazy Chemist

CeCe had Mad Scientist day in her class one day and had a blast dressing the part!

A few weeks later Bryce had Crazy Chemist day.  It's the much anticipated activity for the 5th graders at Dogwood.  They dress up and do the coolest science experiments for their Halloween party.  He had a great time (and actually wore a lab coat and let me spray color and spike his hair!)

Carving Jack-o-lanters with Mary

For Halloween CeCe dressed up as a Veterinarian and Bryce was a baseball player (I told him that he could not go trick-or-treating unless he dressed up, and this is what he came downstairs in!?!)
We had our annual cove party again this year.  Fun times!!

Fort Morgan, AL

We spent Fall Break at the beach with Cappy and Papaw Ruff!  It's always so nice and relaxing at the beach.  My sister and her family were there for the first part of the week and the cousins had the best time together!

My BFF Melanie and her kids came over for the day.  We always love the time we get to spend with them!

We celebrated Cappy's birthday while we were all there.

One day we rented bikes and rode in the state park.  We rode by this sign that said 'The Duke' and had to stop for a photo!

At the putt putt place.  CeCe was sick with an ear infection this day so my dad took Bryce into town to play putt putt.  He had such a good time that he talked us into going back that afternoon.  CeCe was feeling better by then so we all went (minus Papaw, he stayed at the condo for a nap!)

The fab 5!

We had professional photos done this year.  It's something we've talked about doing for years, but we finally did it this year and they turned out great!
