Our eventful few weeks

To start the month of November Papaw Ruff was honored at the Dogwood Veteran's Day program.  It was very special for CeCe that he came! (Bryce had the same program in the morning but my dad could only come to the afternoon younger grades program)

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving Bryce was knocked down in a basketball scrimmage game and broke his left wrist.  It was a fracture of the growth plate technically.  We came on home that night and took him to the orthopedics office the next morning.  He's been in a cast ever since.  This was the night it happened, poor thing was hurting pretty bad!

We had a great Thanksgiving in West Point!  On Thanksgiving day we went out to the country (AKA, where Anthony grew up!) and had the best time exploring.

The Wednesday after Thanksgiving CeCe was at her weekly tumbling class. I was just outside the room and heard a terrible scream.  It was CeCe, she was trying an aerial and landed on her elbow/arm.  I knew right away she was hurt pretty bad so we went straight to the orthopaedic drs office.  Anthony met us there thankfully!

She has a fracture/dislocation of her ulna and elbow.  They put her in this softer cast to allow for swelling for about 5 days.

This was the night CeCe's happened, she was thankfully feeling so much better once they got the cast on.  How crazy is it that they both have left arm casts at the same time?  Makes for a cute/fun picture but definitely complicates things at home!  (Bath, hand washing, etc!)

The day after CeCe's adventure Bryce woke up with strep throat.  First time for strep for either of the kids.  He felt pretty crummy for 3 days and missed his first two 'sick days' at Dogwood.  Luke Duke is the best sick companion.  Whoever is sick he is their constant companion and it is the sweetest thing!  And huge shout out to Cappy.  She came over at a moment's notice this day (and many others!) so I could get CeCe to the eye Dr. and stay with sick Bryce.

CeCe failed the eye screening at school so the day after she broke her arm I wasn't ready to send her all day so she and I went to the eye Dr.  She ended up needing glasses for the classroom and schoolwork/homework.  She looks precious in her new glasses!

That Friday night was the annual daddy/daughter dance at Dogwood.  CeCe rocked the pink cast by putting some matching pink hair extensions in!  Love her style!

CeCe went back to the Dr. the next Monday and got this fun rainbow tie-dyed hard cast.  We've now been for 2 weekly sets of X-rays for her and each time the Dr. says "she's so lucky" that she has avoided surgery for this.

Bryce had a nasty stomach virus this weekend and miss school today, hopefully he will be up for school tomorrow.  He has an ortho appointment Wednesday and we are hopeful that he will get his cast off!  This has been one crazy month around here!  Thankful for our many blessings!!
