Want to smile? Read this!

This is such an amazing story that is still unfolding for my friend Adrienne and her family. Read her blog post from today here. It will make you smile and possibly tear up with joy for them. Her blog is on my list so some of you may have already been reading about them. Their blog is Our Journey of Love. Adrienne and I were sorority sisters at Mississippi State. I had been following their blog for over a month before I realized that I really knew them in real life!

The Big 3-0

My 30th birthday is fast approaching (the 28th) and since my parents were in town this weekend we decided to celebrate early!! Friday night my dad grilled shrimp and scallops and my mom made a delicious cake. Saturday night we went to my favorite restaurant, Dharma Blue, and had a wonderful meal.

Yikes! Look at all those candles!!

Dressed up to go out to Dharma Blue. We are sitting on our new couch...my birthday present from Anthony and the kids!
Going shopping!
CeCe has been a PIG lately! At the restaurant she ate her baby food I brought her then ate a whole roll and then a 4th of Bryce's grilled cheese and some fries! Here she is mooching some of Anthony's yogurt this morning (after she ate a big breakfast!). How could you say no to that face!?!
This afternoon we went out to the beach for a picnic. We bought an annual pass to the Gulf Islands National Seashore and went to Fort Pickens. We will be going back! The sand is beautiful, it is not very crowded, and the Fort looks really cool too. We will definitely be going back to explore soon!

Well.....that was SCARY

This afternoon Bryce had his first full blown, can't breathe, super scary asthma attack. He woke up from his nap and came out coughing and asked us for a breathing treatment (first time he's done that). He was crying a little so I quickly got the inhaler and put the mask to his face. He knows how to do them (we've been doing them alot this week but for nothing near this scary) and always does a great job. I noticed he wasn't breathing in deep like he normally does so I reminded him to breathe deep. He said "I can't". I thought yeah right, and then quickly noticed that he really couldn't. He then started coughing and gagging so I took him to the bathroom. Here is where my hero Anthony took over. I broke down because I realized he couldn't breathe. I don't think Anthony realized it yet though and kept telling him to relax and take deep breaths. I said through my tears, "Anthony he can't breathe, what do we do?" Bryce was coughing so obviously some air was getting in and out but he was getting frantic. Finally he threw up a little mucous and I think that helped. We did another breathing treatment and he was able to take short breaths to get the medicine in him. After another couple of minutes and a few rounds of "You are my Sunshine" sung by Daddy, he was much better. I'm scared now. Asthma was just annoying before but now it is scary.

My sister will be appalled!

We were supposed to go to a playgroup cookout this afternoon but unfortunately the hostess came down with a nasty stomach bug and had to cancel. We wanted to enjoy the wonderful weather so we decided to get lunch and take it to a park for a picnic. Anthony and Bryce wanted Chik-fil-A and I got a sandwich from City Grocery, yummy! CeCe ate all of the lunch I packed for her and still seemed hungry so I gave her some of Bryce's chicken nuggets and french fries......think she liked them?

Cautiously tasting something new

Shoveling it in

Hmm, happy tummy

More please!

After we ate we played

And Bryce took CeCe down her first slide. She loved it of course!

Bike rodeo and sprinklers

Bryce's school held a bike rodeo today to raise money for Haiti. It was so cute! They had a course set up and some gas pumps and even a bike washing station. He had a great time. CeCe and I stopped by for a minute to watch the festivities and then she and I hit the beach!! I was too lazy to take my camera to the sand, but she had a great time and looked super cute in her bathing suit!

This afternoon Bryce decided he wanted to wash his motorcycle (tricycle) and his lawnmower.

CeCe loves sitting outside and watching Bryce play. I bring one of her toy bins out and she will sit for a long time just looking at all of her toys. So cute!
Wednesday Bryce wanted to play with this sprinkler toy. It was a little chilly though so he didn't last long!

Oh and BIG NEWS!! At 9.5 months old CeCe has finally decided to CRAWL!! I just realized I didn't do a 9 month update on her. She is 17lbs. 3oz and 27 inches long. Right around 50% for both. She is doing great!!

Bryce and CeCe are starting to play together alot now. She is mobile! Even though she isn't crawling she will do this lay down on tummy squirm around sit back up thing until she gets to where she wants to go!!! Here they are playing with Bryce's keyboard.

While I was taking a shower Sunday morning Anthony and the kids went out to play. Bryce loves playing outside in his pajamas!!
And this is where I found CeCe!!! She loved it because she was in the shade and had a great view of her brother and Daddy!

Bryce's asthma started up last night around 11. We gave him his inhaler and then listened to the poor thing cough for another hour (we kept going in to reassure him he was going to be OK and he was so big, telling us that he was going to be fine!) He went on to school today after 2 treatments and had a great day. Yesterday afternoon CeCe got a fever and has had one on and off ever since. We've been giving her Motrin and when the fever is down she seems fine but when the Motrin wears off she is pitiful. This morning she just layed limp in my arms for a while before the medicine kicked in. But after it got in her system she was back to laughing and playing like normal. Who knows what it is, but I hope it goes away soon! She and I go for her 9 month check up Wed. And I register Bryce for 4 year old VPK (free 4 year old preschool in Florida!)!! My kids are getting so old!!!

Easter photo shoot

My mom and I took the kids back to The Memphis Botanical Gardens last week to take pictures of them in their Easter outfits. Here is what we came away with......

These first two aren't that great, but I thought they were neat. In this one they have the exact same expression on their face!
And here is Bryce feeding CeCe some of his snack. So sweet!
Here are my favorites:

A post about our Easter morning follows this one.
