Crazy hair

Bryce has started twisting his hair around his fingers and it ends up in knots that I can't get out! The crazy looking thing on the right side of his hair is the result of the twisting. You can see it looks fried at the end where I had to work it out. He would create crazy looking curls all over! The one in the middle of his hair is just normal Bryce morning hair! Can't blame that one on him!! I kept telling him that if he didn't stop twisting he would have to get his hair cut (which he hates!). He was doing it without realizing it though so I knew it was time to get it cut :( It looks pretty good and Bryce was such a big boy getting it done!!

Ultrasound picture

I ended up just taking pictures of our ultrasound pictures! I was going to go to a friend's house and scan them, but this turned out fine I think!

Great Trip and Dr. visit!

We had a wonderful trip to West Point and Olive Branch! It was so much fun just being each place. Nothing big planned just playing and visiting with the Grandparents. Here are some pictures from our trip...

Papaw Duke has had this awesome tractor hidden from us! Bryce loved 'driving' it.

No trip to West Point would be complete without a visit to the country and the buses!

Bowling with Papaw Duke

Going for a ride around the house

Bryce LOVES his Cappy!

He had a great time hugging/holding/kissing baby Jude
Happy Birthday Papaw Ruff!
Sleeping in his new bed at Cappy and Papaw Ruff's house.
Melts my heart!!

We got home from our trip last night and had a full day today! I took Bryce to school, ran to the Dr. for our 20 week appointment and ultrasound (more on that at the end of the post) and ran back to Bryce's school for their Mardi Gras Parade.
My favorite part of Mardi Gras parades from when I was younger! "Moon Pie! Moon Pie!"

Our 20 week appt. went great! Baby Crunchy is growing well, had plenty of fluid, and is measuring right on track (20 weeks 3 days). It was awesome to see the profile, hands and feet. When it was time to check out the bladder and that area she told us to close our eyes and we did! I had no trouble being good and not peeking to find out the gender. We don't have our scanner anymore but I'm going to see if any of my friends here do and I'll scan in some of the pictures. She got some good ones!
Quick story. Bryce and I were outside swinging this afternoon and he mentioned that he was glad to be home with his glider and all of his other toys. Then he said "I love Dada". I asked him who else he loves and in this order he said : "Sister (our dog Reagan), Cappy, Papaw Ruff, Kiki, Papaw Duke, Mama and Baby Crunchy and Baby Jude"! AAWWW! It melted my heart when he included his baby brother or sister in that list!

Recent pictures

My friend Melanie and her son Liam have been staying with us since Sunday. The boys have had a good time playing together. We have had some clashes but nothing major at all! We are helping Mel move in to their new house tomorrow. I know we are going to miss them being around all the time but we are so glad they are back in Pensacola. They were gone for 4 months and we missed them so much!

Here is Bryce and Liam on the couch eating breakfast (fruity cheerios, the breakfast of choice this week)

Our playgroup went to Baskin Robbins today for a tour and ice cream. Here the boys are trying to decide what flavor they want.
Bryce chose rainbow sherbet with chocolate sprinkles. And here is one of me and baby Crunchy at 17 weeks

SCARY moment

Bryce is a big boy right? He is out of diapers, he sleeps in a big boy bed, and carries on full conversations with us. All these things make me forget he is still my baby. Today for lunch he had a sandwich and grapes. Lately I haven't been cutting his grapes up because he isn't a baby anymore. I will be cutting those things up until he leaves for college from now on! He choked on one and I was so scared. I watched it happen so I started pounding on his back right away and luckily it flew out fairly quickly. It could have been so much worse but that was my wake up call for sure! So please please please cut your kids grapes up for them!!

Astronaut Bryce

Meet Astronaut Bryce....

This afternoon, he hopped on his space shuttle
Flew to the Space Station
Then flew to Mercury where he encountered a scary pink and green Alien!
But have no fear, Astronaut Bryce is brave and conquered that scary Alien!
Bryce has SUCH a great imagination these days. We played outside for a long time this afternoon and the whole time he was in Astronaut mode and everything he did had something to do with being an Astronaut. It was so fun!

Baby Update

I went for my monthly OBGYN checkup yesterday. Everything looks great with the baby! I got to hear the heartbeat (144). That is one of the best sounds in the world! We scheduled our big ultrasound for Feb. 24th. I'm excited but nervous to see everything and make sure he/she is healthy.

We are not going to find out the gender this time! I'm very excited about that. I can't wait to find out in the delivery room! My Dr. was excited to hear our decision about that, he said it is way more exciting on D-day.

When I was pregnant with Bryce, we called him Baby D until we could found out that he was Bryce at our 20 week ultrasound. This time we need something to call the baby the whole time! I hate saying 'the baby' over and over. I asked Bryce what we should call the baby and he said "how about Crunchy?" I have no idea where that came from and I doubt that will stick but today at least the baby is Crunchy.

Sweet story about Bryce....yesterday after school I told him I had a good Dr. visit (he is always concerned when I tell him I'm going to the Dr., he thinks something is wrong). I told him the baby is growing and is doing well in Mama's tummy. He asked if it was his baby too, then if it was Daddy's baby. I told him it would be his baby brother or baby sister and he said "maybe a sister. Then I would have two sisters." and was sweetly patting Reagan (our dog) on the head! I melted!! But now I wonder....does he think the baby will come out and be a big black dog? :) You never know with Bryce!
