SICK!

He is getting much better now though. I took him to the pediatrician yesterday because he has had a tummy bug for a week now. He hasn't felt too bad with this, so that is a blessing. She told me that he does have a stomach virus, Fifth disease (which is just a virus that causes a rash on the face, stomach and back), and he is cutting his two year molars. Poor thing is dealing with a lot right now! He had no appetite for a week, but last night and today he has been pigging out! He wouldn't even let me toast his bread this morning, just ate it right out of the bag!! Then asked for another and ate all of that piece.

We went to our new pediatrician and I LOVE her. She was so thorough and great with Bryce. He was such a big boy, stepped right onto the scale, let her listen to him with the stethoscope and even let her look in his mouth. He used to hate all these things.

Dr. visit

We saw Dr. Woolley yesterday and he thinks it will be best to wait another year to begin treatment on Bryce's lip. The redness around his lip will respond to laser treatment now, but if we start this early it will require more treatments. Up to 6 or 7 and he has to be under GA each time. If we wait until Bryce is 3-4 years old, it will only take 2-4 treatments. He is going to look at his lip closer while Bryce is sleeping during the first laser treatment to decide what to do about that. The benefits of 'debulking' his bottom lip might not outweigh the risks. The hemangioma isn't causing him any discomfort or preventing him from doing anything like eating or talking. So we will just wait and see.

Prayers

Anthony had lasik surgery this morning with GREAT results so far! We were in and out of there in less than 1 hour. He slept most of the morning but is up walking around and can read without his glasses! He has to wear these funny looking eye shields all day today and then every night for a week.

Please pray for Bryce's friend Quinn. He was admitted to the hospital last night with pneumonia.

Bryce is doing MUCH better today. Last night was horrible. We rang in the new year at 12:10 rushing him outside to breathe in the cool night air. He had a very croupy cough and couldn't catch his breath, but the cold air helped calm it down. Too bad it wasn't 15 minutes earlier or we could have watched the fireworks that were popping everywhere around here, haha. We kept giving him tylenol and motrin last night for his fever, but he hasn't needed any today. Fever free so far! He slept in the recliner with Cappy for about 4hrs. and was raring to go at 5:30am! He and Cappy are both napping now. Maybe I should too?
