Thanksgiving was different this year! We sure missed seeing our family but I'll admit, we really enjoyed staying put. Anthony was off work for almost a whole week and we had no plans and no where to be. That has NEVER happened! We had fun just being at home. Here is our thankful tree we had up in the kitchen. Each day the kids would add a leaf with something they were thankful for. We had some interesting leaves this year! (Dak Prescott, Squanto, air-Bryce. Ninja Turtles, squirrels, every tree-CeCe)
Unfortunately CeCe's cold ended up getting worse on Thanksgiving Day. She had fever most of the day and felt crummy. She complained about her ear hurting so I suspected an ear infection but was a little nervous about pneumonia again too. That night she had been watching something on the big TV in the living room and it was time for the Egg Bowl to start. Instead of asking her to either move to our bedroom or watch her movie on the little DVD player the boys watched the Egg Bowl on the small laptop so we could all be in the living room together and CeCe could still watch her movie. That's LOVE because they had been excited about that game for weeks!
Bryce and I woke up and finished watching the Egg Bowl. WAY TO GO STATE!!!! CeCe woke up feeling better but we took her to the Dr. anyway to get her ears checked and sure enough she had a badly infected left ear.
Maroon Friday at the Drs. office!
That afternoon she felt good enough to play outside so we spent hours outside. Bryce is getting really good at one handed basketball!
Saturday we went to the Westin Hotel downtown to check out the gingerbread competition.
Bryce's class (and CeCe and I helped too!) entered a house this year! It was so fun and hectic helping his 2nd grade class decorate this huge gingerbread house. The kids were so proud to see their house on display!
Sunday after church we went and got a tree. It is perfect and makes the house smell great! We decided to put it in the living room this year so we can see it more. CeCe loves looking at all the ornaments and asked me today if we could take them all off and put them up again!
Last night we watched Elf and decorated the tree. What a fun weekend!!
Tomorrow Bryce has a follow up with the orthopedic dr. They will take his cast off and X-ray his fingers again. I'm hoping he won't need another cast. That thing is disgusting after only 11 days!
