The worst part about moving has begun.....the goodbyes. We spent Friday and Saturday nights with Bryce's best friend James (from LEP) and his parents. Friday afternoon James came over for a playdate and then we all met downtown for the Winterfest trolley tour. It was so much fun. The kids are at a perfect age for the cheesiness factor but it was also enjoyable for the grownups. We had dinner at a new pizza place downtown after the trolley ride. It was a late night and there were 3 cranky kids by 8:30, but it was a great night.
Saturday night was the big Christmas Parade downtown and before the parade there was a one mile race. Bryce has been asking to run in a race for about a year now so this was perfect! CeCe and I dropped the boys off at the start of the race and made our way to grab a spot on the parade route (the race took place right before the parade on the parade route). Earlier in the day Bryce asked if he could wear his Wolverine costume for the race, of course we said yes! It was cute but mainly helped keep his head warmer! Anthony said he was the hit of the race and kept stopping to give people high fives along the way. He would give high fives for a while and then 'feel it' and take off running and everyone would cheer! They were at the back of the pack because of this and I started to get worried that he wasn't able to complete the race. But then we saw him, high fiving along the way and right before he got to us he took off sprinting! It was too dark and he was too fast so my camera didn't catch him running. I was so disappointed but here are my runners are post-race.

James and his parents met us at the parade (they live downtown and walked from their house, how nice!) and watched it with us. The boys had fun playing and catching beads and candy.
Sweet friends!
There were multiple marching bands from New Orleans in the parade and CeCe and I had fun dancing to their music!
The parade lasted SO LONG! After two and a half hours of being out in the cold wind we decided we had enough beads and headed home, the parade was still going at 7:30 when we left! We had to say goodbye to the Banks family and that was hard. Bryce and James gave each other big hugs and tried to hatch a plan for James to come to Bryce's birthday party in March. Anthony and I really enjoy Hal and Leslie too so we would love it if they would come!
