FALCONS!

CeCe is on a cheerleading squad this year!  I said no the first few times she asked me but she kept at it and wore me down!  And I'm so glad she did.  She loves it and we love watching her.  She cheers with 10 other girls from her school.  They cheer for the Falcons flag football team.  I took my camera last weekend and got some great pictures of her cheering!

HAIL STATE!

We have had tons of fun at the first two home Mississippi State football games!

Our tailgate group

At the MSU v. LSU game (yes, the first home football game and we had on sweatshirts!)

The game didn't start until 8:30pm and we got back to West Point and in bed at 2:00am!  Luckily CeCe stayed at my parent's house (and had a fabulous time with Winnie!) because she would have been miserable staying up that late!

It was a fun game... mainly a fun 4th quarter.  The bulldogs put up a good fight but fell 2 points short.  I love this picture of Bryce, he loves some bulldog football!!

This was taken at the next game, much more typical weather for Sept. football games....HOT!  It was a fun tailgate and game.  Glad to have CeCe with us too!

First Day of School!

School started on August 10th.  It came too quickly!!  But was a week later than last year so I can't complain too much.  We had meet the teacher night the Thursday before.  Both kids were nervous but felt much better after meeting their new teachers (CeCe is in 1st grade with Mrs. Penn.  Bryce is in 4th grade with Mrs. Sweda for homeroom, Science and SS, Brocato for ILA, and Mrs. W for math)

First day of 1st grade and 4th grade!

We took Bryce by his class first and he wouldn't let me take pictures of him in the classroom, but CeCe let me snap a quick picture of her at her new desk!

That week after school the kids would get off the bus and run home to change so they could swim!  Miller is in middle school this year so they don't get to see him on the bus everyday but have still been able to see him after school.

Last weekend we went out to dinner with the Hancocks and CeCe and Mary wore their matching dresses I made for them.  Love these two best friends!!

And their obnoxious big brother!

Borden Reunion at Lake Martin

Every two years my dad's family gets together for a reunion.  We've tried different places in the last 10 years but my cousin Jennifer found us a gem this year and it's just right across the lake from our family's lakehouse at Lake Martin, AL!  The lakehouse is much too small for everyone to be there together.  This place was a lodge and had 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms with a huge kitchen, living room and play areas for the kids .  That gives every family their own bedroom and bathroom!  We liked it so much that we've decided to do it every year here, not every 2 like we've been doing!

This is the front of the lodge

And the gorgeous view of Lake Martin from the deck
There were lots of games played
The living room was perfect for gymnastics practice.  Yes, that is Cappy doing a headstand!  She had to show everyone up with her great yoga skills!
CeCe can do one too!

These two.....!
Mark brought his tube from Houston (and his boat, but the day before everyone got there his boat broke down!) We had a BLAST on the tube!!  Yes, that's Papaw Ruff out there with Greta, CeCe and Jasper!

Greta, Jude, CeCe, Bryce and Jasper
Alexia, Jennifer and I got in on the action and loved it!
The teenagers were great to play with the little kids.  We spent hours swimming and playing off the dock.
Glow stick fun!
Soccer here and Rod and Jack brought a badminton set that the kids (and adults!) loved too.

The last night my dad and his 3 brothers sang some beautiful songs for us, then we all sang hymns together.  Love that about my family!

Here is the crew that stayed the weekend.  We were missing a few (Anthony couldn't come!) but hopefully next year everyone can be there!

Arkansas Diamond Mine

The weekend of July 18 we met Kiki and Papaw Duke in Murfreesboro, Arkansas at the Crater of Diamonds State Park.  Papaw Duke has been wanting to go to the diamond mine for years!  For father's day this year we booked the trip.  Unfortunately we booked it for the hottest weekend of the year!  The heat index on this day was 108 where we were!  It was brutally hot out there but we still had fun!  I know on a cooler day we could have stayed much longer.  Bryce, Anthony and Papaw dug for about 2 hours.  CeCe and I lasted one hour.  Kiki was smart and stayed in the shade the whole time!

We didn't find any diamonds.  But we did find some neat looking rocks and one pretty quartz.

That night we drove to Hot Springs for the night.  The next day we took a Duck Tour around town.  No pictures from that though, I must have been too hot to think!!

Downtown and cousin fun

CeCe and Jasper went to zoo camp one week in July.  Blakeley and the kids came early to come to CeCe's party and we had a fun week playing with cousins!  While CeCe and Jasper were at zoo camp each day (which they loved!) Bryce and Jude had some fun times together.  Blakeley and I took them to the Civil Rights Museum.  It was GREAT and the boys really enjoyed walking around.  We were there for almost 4 hours!

After Blakeley and Winnie went back home we took the older boys to the new Bass Pro Shop in the Pyramid.  It was super cool!  This picture is on the balcony at the top.

 Movie night!
The kids love dressing up in our old dance costumes.  Here CeCe and Jasper were going to get married but Jasper's outfit was too itchy

So Jude stepped in as the groom!

The kids have so much fun playing together and loved the week they got to spend together!
