A wonderful Thanksgiving

We had a great almost week long Thanksgiving adventure! Tuesday after school we drove to my family's lake house. The Williams were there and the kids all had a blast playing together. Wednesday my dad, Anthony, the kids and I went into Montgomery to visit with my Grandparents and to have lunch with my cousin Jennifer and her family. Thursday was the big day! We took our dishes of hashbrown casserole, salad and caramel cake to my Aunt Lynda and Uncle Dave Gray's farm. They host a group of at least 70 people every year! I am very blessed to be a part of such a wonderful family. This is my Dad's Mother's side of the family (The Robinsons). There were quite a few from my generation that weren't able to come this year, but we still had a pretty good crowd, don't you think?

CeCe loved playing outside (in the 80 degree weather!)
Bryce and I riding on the sled pulled by Uncle Dave on the tractor. My Pop built this sled many years ago and I remember riding on it as a little girl!
Anthony and Bryce on the sled
Friday morning we got up early and drove to West Point in the cold rain. We got there and had to go to WalMart to buy CeCe a coat and hat! She wanted to play outside with the boys so bad but I didn't have anything warm enough for her to wear. I hit the jackpot...this jacket and hat were only $14!
Bryce, I mean Spiderman, was nice and warm in his suit and mask.
Saturday we had to wear our Maroon and White for the big game!
We had lunch in Starkville at Oby's and decided to drive by our old sorority and fraternity houses (they are right next door to each other, awww!) I had to get a pic with CeCe in her cheerleading outfit in front of the house. One day maybe she will be moving in here and can put this picture up in her room!! (no pressure though, seriously, I'm not that mom!)Anthony might be that dad though! Here are my boys in front of the Phi Delt house. The sun was in the wrong place for me to get the sign at the top of the house. We will have to try this one again.

Our Weekend

Has been so much better than the last 12 days have been!!! Thank goodness Bryce's stomach virus only lasted about 2.5 days, rather than the 7 that CeCe's did. He started perking up Friday afternoon but we still took it easy yesterday and stayed home all day just to make sure he was really 'back'. He is!! Anthony and the kids played outside while I once again scrubbed the house down. After lunch we decided to go ahead and hang up our Christmas lights. We won't be turning them on until after our Thanksgiving trip, but it is so nice to have that done!

Don't you wish Spiderman would come help you hang your lights?
Today we decided to go on an adventure. There was an article published in a local magazine a while back about the 22 best outdoor adventures in Pensacola. I bookmarked it for future reference and today turned out to be a great day to check one out. We ended up at Tarkiln Bayou in the SW part of town. It is a small state park with 2 walking trails. The one we took was paved/boardwalk the whole way and was 1.2 miles round trip. Perfect for the kids.
Bryce decided he needed this for the hike
CeCe loved it and walked more than I thought she wouldThe boardwalk ended at a body of water that I assume is the Tarkiln Bayou. It was so beautiful out there. We stayed for a long time watching for fish.

We look forward to checking out more things on that list.
Bryce has 2 days of school this week and then we head out on our Thanksgiving trip. We will go to the lakehouse on Tuesday afternoon, see my family on Wed. and Thurs. and then head to West Point on Friday-Sunday. I'm sure I'll have plenty of cute pictures when we get back!

My sweet angels

Don't they look pitiful?

The first night
2 days later
She felt a little better one day and was helping me wrap the Christmas presents. One plus to the 10+days in the house was Amazon.com. I finished my Christmas shopping and was able to get them all wrapped too!
Watching TV with Daddy. CeCe has learned to appreciate TV after this sickness. Before she never cared about it, but now she will ask for Word World, Mickey Mouse and Abby (Cadaby on Sesame Street) Notice the Mickey Mouse shirt. Cappy bought that for her (they don't make girly Mickey shirts) and she loved it. She wore it much of that week and would smile when she saw Mickey.
Sweet Bryce on day 2.

Make it stop, Part II

Bryce has this dreaded stomach virus now. Poor thing started throwing up at 1:45am and didn't stop until after 7:00am. It was bad for those 6 hours but since then (knocking on wood) he has been OK. It is 1:15 now and he is finally napping. He has had some Gatorade and one cracker and so far so good. Anthony is my hero. He stayed home from work to help me out and has actually been in our bedroom with Bryce for most of the day. CeCe and I ran up to his office to get his computer so he is back there working some.

CeCe has been doing much better. Her appetite came back strong and for 2 days I had to make her mad by going slow and bland with her. We are now mostly back to normal for her, aside from her extra neediness and sleeping much less. I think that is a combo of being an only child for a week and being so sick. We were able to do everything she wanted right when she wanted it and now she expects that all the time! And we ran to her room when she stirred at night to make sure she was OK so now when she wakes up at 5:30 she wants to get up instead of falling back to sleep like she used to. I know all this will get better with time.

For now I'll worry about Bryce. I pray pray pray this doesn't last 7 days like it did for CeCe.

Make it stop, please

CeCe has been sick since Monday night. Today is Sunday. Seven days later and she is still sick. She threw up early yesterday morning and then again tonight. I'm getting worried about her. I'm calling the Dr. first thing tomorrow, seven days of vomiting seems like way too much to me. Dr. Page gave us a Rx for Zofran last week and we are now on our last pill so I hope she will at least give us more of that in case this continues. We have tried multiple times to go without the Zofran but everytime she throws up again. She seemed SO much better this weekend. She played, had a sparkle in her eye and ate a good bit and then bam, out of nowhere tonight she threw up everywhere.

I had been taking pictures of her this week thinking I could do a cute 'sick baby' post. Not so cute when it lasts this long.

Bryce has been with my parents this whole time and CeCe and I are supposed to meet them Tues. to pick him up. I can't take a sick baby in the car for 6 hours though. I miss him so bad. I need to see his smile and feel his arms around me.

This has been a very long week. I'm running out of steam.

Last week

Last week we had a housefull! My good friend Robin and her two kids James (almost 2) and Sam (almost 1) came to stay from Wed.-Sat. It was so much fun!! They moved from Pensacola to Atlanta in July and we've been lucky enough to see them at our lake house in Aug. and now this visit! Next we are due to go see them in Atlanta!

Cappy also came in town to join the craziness! She got here Thurs. and left yesterday (Monday). She took Bryce with her :( My parents have been wanting to take Bryce on a train ride from Memphis to New Orleans for about 2 years now and it finally worked out. He has a holiday from school Thurs. so he is only really missing 3 days of school for the trip. He spent last night in West Point with Kiki and Papaw Duke and is going up to Olive Branch this afternoon. They will ride down Thurs. and ride back Sat. staying in the French Quarter and doing lots of sightseeing on the 2 days they will be there. I miss my Bryce already and he's only been gone one day! I know he is going to have a blast though!

Sunday we drove to Montgomery to surprise my Grandpa for his 87th birthday. It is always so much fun seeing how excited he gets to see the kids. This visit, as usual, he paraded Bryce and CeCe up and down the halls of the nursing home to show them off to all of his friends! Most of them know my kids by name from all the pictures my Grandpa keeps in his room. My Aunt Sandra brought cupcakes for the occassion.

Last night as we were putting CeCe to bed she started throwing up. She ended up throwing up 4 times between 7 and 10 and then finally she was able to sleep. She woke up bright and early at 4:30 this morning, but has had a couple of good naps today. She had a nasty diaper earlier, but has kept down pedialyte, crackers and water today. She's definitely not feeling 100% but hopefully is on the mend. CeCe and I were supposed to drive to Huntsville to see my sister and her family today-Friday but had to cancel when she got sick. I'm so sad about it! We were looking forward to spending time with them and Blakeley, CeCe, Jasper and I were going to drive to Franklin, TN Thurs. to see my best friend Ashley and her new baby Samuel. I'm bummed we can't go and hopefully we can find another time to go up there.

Here are some pictures from last week:

CeCe and Sam playing outside
Our friend Melinda and her two boys came over Friday night for supper. We had two WILD 4 year olds, a 2 year old and three 1 year olds running around. It was crazy, but fun!

Trick or Treat!

We had a great Halloween! We were invited to a great Halloween get together at our friends, The Aldridges house. They had tons of yummy food and a back yard of fun for the kids. The night turned out to be warmer than I thought it would which ended up not being a good thing for CeCe and her costume. Poor thing was burning up after wearing it a short time so we let her take it off. Here is CeCe (pre costume) snacking while watching Bryce jump on the trampoline.
Bryce stayed on that trampoline for at least an hour straight. He was so hot and sweaty! This little girl got there right before trick or treating started, she is dressed as the Beast (from Marvel comics). Bryce was smitten!

Here we are.....Mama witch with a cute pink monster and Daddy Spiderman with a scary Hulk!

CeCe and Kate with Brett on the hunt for some candy
Bryce in action (I think he was so hot, he didn't wear his mask that much)
CeCe checking out the candy

Kate and CeCe enjoying their suckers. Kate was so funny, she ate 3 tootsie roll pops!!! CeCe played with hers more than anything and everything was so sticky (costume was ditched at this point!)
