Labor Day in West Point

We spent the weekend in West Point, MS at Anthony's parents house. The weather was perfect, the whole family was together and the Bulldogs won. Can't get much better than that! (Ole Miss losing was pretty amusing to us but I won't include that in the perfectness, that would be too mean to all of my Ole Miss friends!).

I got a new telephoto lens for my camera the day before we left. This is how they sold me on the lens....the lady put it on my camera and took this picture from across the room. She knew that would get me!
CeCe loving on her Daddy

Showing love for the Bulldogs!

Papaw Duke has bought a warehouse at what used to be Bryan foods. Here we are one morning exploring the warehouse.

Papaw Duke and his 4 grandkids in a parade. Poor Chandler (in back) was such a good sport!

Daniel and Bryce were playing Sunday afternon and Daniel hit his head on a doorknob and instantly got a BIG goose egg on his forehead. I tried to explain to Bryce that they needed to settle down and play quietly for a little while to let Daniel heal, this is what happened about 2 minutes later. Boys will be boys!
Papaw Duke teaching his youngest grandsons how to play football.

Not sure what he is doing here, maybe waiting on his turn at quarterback?
Bryce looks like his is getting ready for a tackle!

We celebrated Daniel's 6th birthday with cake, ice cream and presents.

Papaw Duke and his 4 grandkids! I don't know why we didn't get one with Kiki in it!

Watching the boys play football

Kiki had a new battery powered blower and Bryce LOVED it. He blew grass, leaves, balls, anything he could find.

Awwwww!!!!

First Day of VPK

Today Bryce started VPK (Florida's free 4 year old preschool program). He is going to the same school he went to last year but this year it is free!! :) Well mostly, we pay to let him stay the last 50 minutes of each day to play and eat lunch with his friends. He goes from 9-1 M-F. I wish it was only 3 or 4 days a week because I know I'm going to miss him! He was excited and nervous this morning but walked right into his classroom after giving me an extra hug. CeCe kept asking for him! She said his name at least 10 times and kept looking for him in familiar places (carseat, playroom, outside). She was so excited to see him when we picked him up. So sweet!!

I did OK today but can tell I will be a complete basketcase this time next year! Bryce and I both knew what to expect this year since we did the same things at the same place last year. But next year in Kindergarten it will be a whole new ballgame! I DREAD it!!!!
*This is my second post today so scroll down for the next one!

Rain Rain Go Away

We have had so much rain here lately! I've emptied 8 inches from our rain gauge this past week and I know it was raining a lot the week the kids and I were in Memphis. We are so tired of it!! We all go stir crazy when we can't get outside and run around. CeCe doesn't understand why we aren't going outside after nap like we usually do so she stands at the door and screams. Friday we went to Barnes and Noble to meet some friends but got soaked running in and it was freezing inside so we didn't stay too long. We got soaked again leaving so I let the kids soak in a warm bubble bath when we got home. CeCe's first bubble bath!

All weekend we had to stay inside because of the rain. After supper last night we noticed the sun was coming out a little and ran outside to run around before bathtime. I looked up and noticed this.....a double rainbow! How cool!!
The kids had fun running around in the wet street. They were so happy to be outside!

What the kids are saying these days

Random post but I want to remember these things.....

1. After we met Bryce's teachers today (which was wonderful, by the way. I think he is going to have a GREAT year. He was so excited the whole time we were there.) we decided to get Chik-fil-A and take it home to eat. Usually when we eat there I'll get 2 happy meals so they can have drinks but since we were coming home I just got them a value meal to share. Bryce asked where the toy was after he ate and I said "Oh, sorry sweet pea, I didn't get a happy meal this time." He immediately said "oh, is it a mad meal?" So cute! He has never been a happy meal toy kid. He is always way more excited about the food than the toy that comes with it. I guess we've just never really talked about them being happy meals before!

2. Tonight while eating dinner Bryce was making funny faces while eating his raspberries. I thought maybe they were just sour so I told him he didn't have to eat them if they didn't taste good. He said "no, I'm just sucking them down without chewing". Anthony told him he needs to chew his food so his tummy won't hurt and he said "snakes don't chew their food and I'm a snake tonight so I'm not going to chew"!!

3. Today CeCe fell off of a shelf that she was not supposed to be on and hit her head pretty bad. She was crying alot and I've found that taking her to her room, getting her bippy (paci) and reading to her makes her forget about her boo boo. Bryce ran in with some books and said he wanted to read to her this time. It was the sweetest thing, he made up stories to go with the pictures and she loved it! Here is a picture of him reading to his sister.

4. Miss CeCe is a chatterbox! Bryce didn't talk until he was 18 months so hearing her talk so much is awesome! She can actually tell us what is on her mind sometimes instead of screaming! One of her favorite things to say is tawide (translation: to ride). I knew she was saying ride because she would say it at the appropriate times but I couldn't figure out the ta at the beginning. It is from me always saying "do you want TO ride?" She also loves babies.....in books, magazines, or in person. We met our next door neighbor's baby this afternoon and she kept running (with her walker) up to the carseat saying "gaggy" (translation: baby). She has also started naming body parts and loves to point out people's noses. Her Daddy's favorite thing is when I get her out of the tub at night she waves to him and says "night night" without being prompted! I love getting her out of the crib in the morning to the sweet sound of her saying "mornin"!

Another Trip!

This past week the kids and I headed out of town on another trip! We wanted to go to my parent's house one more time before Bryce starts school next Monday. We left on Thursday and stopped at Kiki and Papaw Duke's house for a yummy lunch. We stayed in Olive Branch until the next Thursday when we packed up and headed to the lake. Anthony met us there and we had a great weekend! We drove home yesterday (Sunday).

This was before we left. Kiki bought these last summer and until now they have been toy bins....not anymore! They love riding in these!

Bryce on the diving board at my parents house

Chef CeCe helping Papaw Ruff make waffles
CeCe at the lake (we found a little pony tail holder at the lakehouse and tried many different hairstyles this weekend! Her hair isn't long enough to need any of this, but it is so fun!!)
My good friend Robin who just moved to Atlanta from Pensacola drove over for the day (to the lake) with her two kids, James and Sam. Here CeCe and Sam are having some girl time while the big brothers play.
James loved climbing on the kayak so we took him and Bryce on a short ride
SLIP n SLIDE fun!!! It was awesome!
Even Cappy enjoyed it!! Robin and James fishing

Blue Angels

This morning we got up bright and early and drove to Ft. Pickens beach to watch the Blue Angels practice. It was AWESOME! I was worried about it being too loud for CeCe but you can see from the pictures that she loved it! The tropical depression #5 brewing out there made for some interesting surf today, but all of the kids had a blast with the choppier water. Bryce got tossed about one time and lost his favorite goggles but came up laughing and wanting to do it again! CeCe loved getting splashed in the face with the water too.....she would laugh everytime! We made them get out when I found oil on CeCe's shovel and in searching the kids we found oil on Caden's hand. I guess the rough surf brought more oil to shore. Yuck. We scrubbed them in the tub when we got home. Here are some pictures my friend Sabrina took while we were there.

CeCe seeing the Blue Angels for the first time
Bryce and Caden having a ball
She would follow them across the sky!

I love this shot of Bryce!
She loves digging in the wet sand
Super hero Bryce

It was awesome having a photographer right there with us! I never get good pictures with the kids

Fun with Jude

(And the Grandparents!)
My parents and Jude drove down here Tuesday and stayed until Saturday morning. It was a crazy but super fun time! The 3 kids get along great and Jude seems to be into everything Bryce was at that age so we had lots of toys that he loved!

Here are Jude and CeCe doing what they do best....eating. Snacking with Papaw, right before supper!
Jude loved playing Bryce's saxophone
Wednesday afternoon we played with water toys outside

We moved Jude's carseat into the Yukon so we could all ride together. Jude enjoyed it more than this picture makes it seem! And poor CeCe is still rear facing so you can't see her here, but she and Jude shared lots of snacks being that close to each other. Jude wearing Bryce's headphones/ear muffs from Papaw Duke

Friday afternoon we went to the pool. Here is CeCe having fun
And Bryce splashing
And Jude exploring
This morning when Cappy and Papaw Ruff were packing the car to leave Anthony (Jude calls him A) was mowing and weed eating. He let Jude help him prime the weed eater and he loved it!
Then he helped by weed eating by the sidewalk!
My parents said he talked about A and the lawm mower and weed eater for the first hour of the trip!
We went to the beach at Fort Pickens Thursday morning but I was scared to take my camera out there. The weather looked iffy and I didn't want to get stuck in the rain with my nice camera. I wish I had though, I would have gotten some super cute pictures. It is beautiful out there and the kids had fun digging in the sand. We can't wait until they all come back, maybe with Jasper next time!!
