Happy Birthday CeCe!

Our little bird is ONE today!! 365 days ago she came into this world and has brightened our world every day since. We celebrated with a birthday muffin tonight and she will have her cupcake and icing next week at her party.

She had a great birthday dinner tonight.....fresh creamer potatoes, squash from Cappy and Papaw's garden, ladie peas from the farmers market and hamburger leftover from dinner last night.

We let her open a present from Cappy....a basket of babies to love on! I. LOVE. THIS. PICTURE.
CeCe got Bryce a 'thank you for being an awesome big brother' present

CeCe has started saying some new words in the last couple of weeks.....Papaw (sounds like bapa), Cappy (tatty), ball, book, bye bye, milk. She is pretty much refusing to eat pureed fruits and veggies now so she eats what we are eating. We are working on weaning from breastfeeding now. She usually nurses once sometime in the middle of the night or early morning, once before her afternoon nap and once before bed. She drinks water and whole milk great from sippy cups. She can walk behind a push toy, but doesn't do it that often. She can stand up for about 15 seconds at a time, but hasn't attempted to take steps. She is still so in love with her brother and he adores her too. We are having her birthday party next Saturday so be sure to check back for pictures!!

Fun in the Sun

Despite CeCe's pneumonia and Cappy's trip to Urgent Care for a sinus infection, we had a great time at the lake this past week. The kids and I got there Thursday and stayed through Wednesday so it was a nice long visit. CeCe was completely fine until Monday mid-morning so even she had a great time! Sunday my Dad's father's family had a big family reunion at my Aunt and Uncle's house, complete with swimming, pony rides, and homemade ice cream! There were about 100 people there...wow!!

Here is CeCe playing with her cousin Greta at the reunion

Bryce reluctantly tried the pony rides
CeCe had more fun on the pony than Bryce did! (guess her fear of horses does not include the real thing!)Daddy, Mama, and Bryce on the wave runner. Bryce loved it!

CeCe update

We made it to my parents house (we have been at the lakehouse for the last week) so I can update on a computer instead of my phone!

CeCe has had a runny nose and an occasional wet cough for over 2 weeks now. That seemed to be all it was though. Her appetite was great, her spirits were great and she was sleeping great.....until Monday. She woke up with a slight fever Monday morning and by the time she woke up from her morning nap she was lethargic and had a high fever. Cappy and I took her to PriMed in Wetumpka, AL Monday around lunchtime and she was diagnosed with pneumonia in her right lung. She got a Rocephin shot, some oral antibiotics and a cough/cold medicine. As of Wednesday night I don't see any improvement. I don't know if this is normal for pneumonia, but I'm going to call our pediatrician in the morning just to ask them what I should look for and how long this should last. She is fine (other than a nasty nose and cough) until her fever spikes and then she just lays on us. Her sleep has been pretty terrible the last few nights and I know she is uncomfortable. She is now on so much medicine that her tummy is starting to get unsettled too. I will update tomorrow or Friday with *hopefully* better news.

NOT a happy Father's Day here

We have the plague. CeCe and Bryce have been super snotty since LAST Saturday. CeCe's had a cough since Tuesday afternoon. Anthony had achiness and fever Tuesday. Bryce and Anthony both had fever Thursday on our drive home from Memphis. Bryce's fever got as high as 105 Friday and 104.5 Saturday. Anthony was feeling better until BAM Saturday night he was hit with bad nausea and vomiting and is still feeling horrible. He's missed 2 days of work because of this and he never ever misses work. CeCe is still snotty and has a cough. Bryce's temp was 102 last night before bed but he is fever free now. *Fingers crossed that he stays this way and that Anthony starts feeling better soon*

The kids and I did play outside some this morning for the first time since we've been home. I'm absolutely exhausted....mostly from worry I think.

We are going to have a re-do for Father's Day once all the germies are out of here. I think we owe Anthony a re-do for his birthday too.....seems like Bryce was super sick then too. Sigh

Visiting the Grandparents

Anthony had to work in Memphis a couple of days this week so we all loaded up and headed north! We stopped in West Point Saturday to spend the night with Anthony's parents (Kiki and Papaw Duke). We had a great visit with them!

Here is CeCe playing with Papaw Duke
Papaw Duke taught Bryce how to hammer....and said he was a natural at it! He is going to build CeCe and birdhouse for her birthday once he feels better (more on that later)
Sunday we drove to my parent's house (Cappy and Papaw Ruff) in Olive Branch. We spent the next 3 days in the pool!! It was so hot! My dad did take the kids to the zoo Tues. morning and Bryce to a park Wed. morning. Bryce loved both of those and from what I was told CeCe enjoyed the zoo!

Me and CeCe out by the pool

I can't believe how far Bryce has come with his swimming!!! 2 months ago he didn't want to have his face touch the water and now.....he is jumping off the diving board and swimming to the ladder all by himself!!! WOW!!! He sure makes me proud!!!
On the way home yesterday we stopped for lunch at Kiki and Papaw Duke's house. Bryce was acting puny so I took his temp and it was 101. We gave him Motrin and he perked back up and was fine for the rest of the drive but when we got home he just wanted to lay on the couch. Motrin perked him back up and he slept good. This morning he woke up with a 102 temp, and by noon it was at 105! He scares me with these super high temps, but good old Motrin brought it back down and he is now napping on the couch. Anthony has been sick since Tues. night too.....he had fever last night and actually stayed home from work today. CeCe has a snotty nose and cough but *hopefully* she won't get the high temps too. All this came just after I had a very rough couple of days with severe hip pain. I still don't know what was going on, but thankfully I'm feeling better and don't have to hobble around to take care of my sick family!

Another beach morning

CeCe had a fever yesterday afternoon and last night so we thought our plans to hit the beach today were shot. But sweet thing woke up feeling great this morning so we altered the plans a little just in case and hit the road! We decided to not do the whole 'beach thing' and go in our normal clothes and just walk in the sand. Bryce and I had a long discussion about the oil disaster this morning and he saw pictures of the birds on the news. On the way to the beach he said he didn't want to get wet because he didn't want to get stuck in the water like the birds on the TV were. Made me so sad! We explained it to him though and he decided he might get wet (but I could tell he was still nervous). When we got there (we went to a great place about 10 miles east of Pensacola Beach--NO OIL there today that we could see or smell) he changed his mind and raced in to play in the waves.

Jumping in the waves--no you are not seeing things.....he has a terrible farmer's tan already this year!!!
