Singing

Bryce has been into singing lately which is absolutely precious! He will sing along with the songs in the car (Jazz, Gospel and 80s are his favorites!). Now he is laying in bed singing(he will always lay in bed for 15-30 minutes talking to himself before he is ready to get up for the day). I love listening to it. He is singing 2 songs from The Backyardigans and the main song from Wonderpets. With the words space shuttle and blast off thrown in there now and again. I wish I had video of this!

He is feeling a lot better. I kept him out of school yesterday because he was still coughing a good bit. He is back to sleeping great and playing like normal though. Phew, that was one tough cold!

New look

I finally updated the title (not the web address) of our blog. It used to be Bryce Duke but since we are expecting another child I figured I better go ahead and include everyone! Our blog started out as a way to keep friends and family updated on Bryce's health and his many surgeries but since we are way passed all that I think it is safe to change things up a bit!

Bryce has a terrible cold right now. Poor thing feels terrible. He has had fever and uncotrollable coughing fits for 4 days now. I took him to the pediatrician today because he was complaining of a sore throat but the strep test was negative. And his ears were clear too. So now we just wait. He is napping now so hopefully he can rest for a while. Today was supposed to be his first day back at school. Hopefully he will feel better and can go Thursday.

New Room

Here are the pictures of Bryce's big boy room. Months ago when I started collecting things for his room, all he thought about was music. Now it is music and space so we have both in the room! My sister painted the guitar pictures, aren't they great?

My aunt Sandra and Uncle Charles gave Bryce an awesome easal and lots of art supplies for Christmas. We finally got it put together this afternoon and he has loved drawing on it. He especially loves erasing the chalkboard! Now we have to find somewhere to put it....!

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Christmas started off on 12/17 with the arrival of our nephew and cousin, Jude. We spent 5 days in Huntsville and celebrated Christmas with the Bordens there.
Bryce and Papaw Ruff at Blakeley and Hunter's house.
Bryce playing with one of 2 new stomp/jump rockets. He loves these things!!

We came home from Huntsville on the 21st and were here for 2 days before heading to West Point to spend Christmas with the Dukes. We had a great time with everyone. Bryce especially enjoyed playing and running around with his cousin Daniel. This is the first visit where Bryce has been old enough to really play with him and they had a blast together!

Papaw Duke has 2 mini school buses on his land (don't ask--he used to have 6 or 7 full size buses out there too!). Bryce LOVES these. He can 'drive' them and open the doors and talk on the CB radios. They spend hours out there each visit to West Point.

Bryce and Daddy in a marching band parade. Bryce got cymbals, a saxaphone and a trumpet for Christmas this year.

After West Point we went on to Olive Branch and stayed with my parents for a couple of days. We got to see some of our old friends from college and Bryce enjoyed playing with their daughter Harper.

From Olive Branch we drove to Birmingham early on Tuesday to have brunch with my dad's family. The gathering was pretty small this year, but we still had a great time. Tuesday night Bryce and I stayed with my parents, aunt, uncle and cousin Jack at a very nice hotel in Birmingham. It was a lot of fun. We drove through Montgomery and stopped by to see my Grandpa yesterday. He was doing great and really enjoyed seeing Bryce. My grandmother is having some trouble right now so please keep her in your prayers.
We got back to Pensacola around 6:00 yesterday. Phew! It is nice to be back, but unpacking from this trip is going to take a while! As I was unloading my mom's car I closed the door on my sweet boy's hand. It hurt him very bad, but after about an hour he was back to playing and using that hand again. I felt TERRIBLE! Bryce slept in his big boy bed last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll post pictures of his updated big boy room later today. We still have to hang some pictures.
Happy New Year!!!

Santa and the Space Museum

Not together, though that would be Bryce's absolute dream come true I think!!! We spent last weekend in Huntsville with my sister and her husband and Cappy getting ready for baby Jude's arrival. Sunday we took Bryce to the Space and Rocket museum. He had a BLAST! We saw a 3D movie that was super cute. Bryce kept his glasses on the whole time and even tried to grab at a couple of things in front of him. Too funny!

Santa came to Bryce's school today. Even though it wasn't a scheduled school day for Bryce the teachers let the Tues./Thurs. kids come today just to see Santa. He was excited to see him but wasn't too sure if he would sit in his lap or not. His teachers and all the other kids were sitting on the stage waiting for Santa to come in and read a story to them. Bryce refused to go up there. He wanted to sit with me. Oh well. But when Santa walked in his face lit up! He was so excited! He stood up from the table, said bye mama and followed Santa right up on the stage! He didn't stop at his class though, Bryce kept on walking at sat right at Santa's feet! It was so cute!! After the story each child got to sit on Santa's lap and take a picture and tell them what they wanted for Christmas. I turned my head to talk to another mom and Bryce waltzed back up on stage to sit in Santa's lap. All by himself! Luckily I caught it and got my friend to snap a picture for me. He told santa he wants a "nice, big truck" for Christmas.

This one is priceless! Santa is here!!!
